Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday said he was preparing to re-establish diplomatic ties with Syria, less than a month after the overthrow of Russia-backed regime of former President Bashar al-Assad. Ukraine earlier also pledged to send food shipments to Syria. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha also met Syria's de facto leader Ahmed al-Sharaa recently in Damascus.
