Train passengers will be able to change travel dates of their confirmed tickets online from January, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw told NDTV. However, there's no guarantee of getting a confirmed ticket for the new date and if the new ticket costs more, he/she will need to pay the fare difference. Currently, passengers cancel and book new tickets for date change.
