US President Donald Trump, while speaking in the UK, said, "I'm very close to India, I am very close to the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) of India...the other day, I wished him a happy birthday." Stating that he has "very good relationship" with PM Modi, Trump added, "But I sanctioned them." Trump has imposed 25% additional 'penalty' tariffs on India.
