A new study by Michigan State University researchers has challenged previous assumptions that gave Asteroid Vesta the status of an embryonic planet. The study was published in Nature Astronomy. It suggested that Vesta is a chunk of an ancient, lost world and may not have the dense core that differentiated planetary bodies usually have.
