Over ₹89 lakh was collected in fines from traffic rule violators in Mumbai on New Year's Eve. Around 17,800 people were penalised, including 153 individuals who were found to be driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. Officials said that 2,893 drivers were penalised for parking vehicles on the road and causing obstruction to free flow of traffic.
