As Thailand went into mourning period after the death of Queen Sirikit, the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew will be closed to visitors from 26 October to 8 November for royal ceremonies. While tourists are not required to wear black, subdued colours would be appreciated when visiting temples, royal sites. There are no restrictions on nightlife or alcohol sales.
