Actor-politician Vijay's TVK party transferred ₹20 lakh each to the families of those who died in the Karur stampede on September 27. "The money...has been sent to 39 families, totalling ₹7.8 crore,” the party said in an X post. Vijay has also directed TVK's cadres to avoid celebrating Diwali to pay homage to 41 people who died in the stampede.
