Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said that the proposed law targeting 'love-jihad' will include provisions to arrest the parents of male accused. "We want to save our women from traps where they become victims of love-jihad and polygamy," he said. Sarma added that the new law will bring stringent punishment, including up to seven years' jail for polygamy.
