Pope Francis on Monday named Cardinal Robert McElroy as the archbishop of US' Washington DC. The 70-year-old, who is said to be a critic of President-elect Donald Trump, has been the bishop of San Diego since 2015. Notably, McElroy criticised Trump's plan during his first administration to launch a mass deportation campaign targeting millions of immigrants living in the US.
