Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), formed in 2009, is widely seen as political front of banned Popular Front of India. It is in news after a hijab-wearing student was allegedly denied entry to a Christian-run school in Kerala, with SDPI accused of backing student's family and creating a ruckus. The party claims to work for empowerment of marginalised communities.
