Advocate Ganesh Hingmire filed a PIL in Bombay HC, seeking direction to Italian fashion brand Prada to pay compensation to artisans making Kolhapuri sandals. This comes after Prada used the Indian footwear's design in its show, without giving credit to India. The PIL also sought directions to government to ensure swift action against infringement of Geographical Indication (GI) tag.
