Justice BR Gavai, who will take oath as the 52nd Chief Justice of India on Wednesday, was elevated as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India on May 24, 2019. In the last six years, he was a part of around 700 Benches. He became a permanent Judge of the Bombay High Court on November 12, 2005.
