Multiple Gaza residents rushed to banks as the financial institutions opened for the first time since at least March, AFP reported. However, Gazans found that there was no money left with banks, with residents noting that most banks and ATMs have been destroyed and Israel has blocked new currency's inflow. The existing Israeli notes have also gotten torn, becoming unusable.
