A man named Bhola Prasad was arrested in connection with the illegal cough syrup case at Kolkata airport while he was trying to flee to Thailand. Bhola is the father of Shubham Jaiswal, the alleged mastermind of the codeine cough syrup syndicate. Earlier, a probe found that codeine-based syrup worth around ₹57 crore was shown as sold through forged documents.
