Maharashtra government announced the cancellation of proposed 10% fare hike by Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) for the upcoming Diwali season. The decision was taken in view of the severe flood situation across the state. The cash-strapped corporation, which is already suffering heavy operational losses, will lose an additional income of ₹20-₹60 crore, an official told PTI.
