The maximum number of players that an IPL franchise can retain ahead of IPL 2025 season is six. Out of the six, a maximum of five can be capped internationals (Indian or overseas) and two can be uncapped Indians. A team that retains fewer than six players before October 31 will have RTM option to buy back players at auction.
