A typical morning hair routine can expose people to as much nanoparticle pollution as standing in dense highway traffic, Purdue University researchers said. A 10-20 minute heat-based hair session may release up to 10 billion nanoparticles that can deposit into the lungs. These particles pose serious health risks, including respiratory stress, lung inflammation & cognitive decline, the study added.
