The students of Panjab University on Monday clashed with the police while holding a protest in the university premises in Chandigarh demanding the conduct of senate elections. This comes after Centre backed down on its move to replace elected governing bodies with nominated ones in the University. Students have said they will continue protesting until the election schedule is announced.
