The Ministry of Culture will organise an exhibition of Lord Buddha's Piprahwa relics in Kalmykia, Russia, from September 24 to October 1. The relics, first excavated in 1898 by a British civil engineer from a stupa in Uttar Pradesh's Piprahwa, were repatriated to India after 127 years in July 2025. The relics are believed to include bone fragments of Buddha.
