US has extended wishes to 14th Dalai Lama on the occasion of his 90th birthday. "The Dalai Lama continues to inspire people by embodying a message of unity, peace, and compassion…We support efforts to preserve Tibetans'…ability to freely choose and venerate religious leaders without interference," said US. This comes after China's objection over choosing Dalai Lama's successor.
