A 27-year-old auto-rickshaw driver has been arrested for allegedly attempting to murder DCP Pankaj Shirsat by ramming his rickshaw into him during traffic duty in Thane. The accused, Hemant Verma, was transporting an overloaded group of passengers when he struck the DCP, who sustained internal injuries and a dislocated shoulder. Verma has been remanded in police custody.
