West Bengal Police detained Union Minister and BJP leader Sukanta Majumdar while he was on his way to visit the clash-affected area in Murshidabad's Beldanga. Majumdar claimed the Beldanga incident has "awakened every Hindu" and demanded CM Mamata Banerjee's resignation. This comes after violent communal clashes broke out allegedly over a signboard at a Kartik Puja pandal in the area.
