Delhi CM Rekha Gupta announced that a 100% waiver on late-payment surcharges on pending domestic and government (non-commercial) water bills will take effect on Tuesday. The waiver will stay in place till January 31, 2026, followed by a 70% waiver until March 31, 2026. Through this amnesty scheme, the Delhi government is waiving penalties worth ₹11,000 crore, she said.
