Zeishan Quadri, who wrote 'Gangs of Wasseypur', claimed he was paid ₹5 lakh for first film and nothing for its sequel. He said, "I got ₹5 lakh and I was told that I'd be paid for sequel, but that didn't happen." he added, "There was no money. One week before shoot of sequel, UTV backed out of making this film."
