The Union government on Friday urged the Supreme Court to allow the bursting of green firecrackers in Delhi-NCR from 8 to 10 pm on Diwali. The Centre proposed that only licensed traders should be allowed to sell green firecrackers and e-commerce platforms should be barred from selling firecrackers in Delhi-NCR. This court had earlier allowed the manufacturing of green firecrackers.
