The UCC rollout in Uttarakhand has led to a surge in registration of live-in relationships, with Haridwar seeing many married individuals applying to enter live-in relationships with third partners. Officials said 13 applications, including five from married people were received and all such applications were cancelled. They added that only two unmarried couples have received approval.
