Indian Railways has said that from October 1, passengers booking general reserved tickets during the first 15 minutes of the opening window on the IRCTC website or app will have to use Aadhaar authentication. Without Aadhaar verification, bookings cannot be made in this 15-minute slot. Existing schedule for booking general reserved tickets through computerised PRS counters remains unchanged.
