Supreme Court addressed the issue of deaths of Booth-Level Officers (BLOs), including by suicide, amid the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. A bench led by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant held state governments responsible for BLOs' working conditions and mental health. "Where 10,000 staff (have been deployed), even 30,000 can be deployed," said the Supreme Court bench.
