India's unemployment rate declined to 5.2% in Q2 FY26, down from 5.4% in the April-June quarter. Rural unemployment declined from 4.8% in Q1 to 4.4% in the quarter under review, while urban unemployment stood at 6.9% from 6.8%. The female participation in the labour force witnessed an increase to 33.7% in the July-September quarter from 33.4% in Q1.
