Karnataka Minister MB Patil has recommended renaming Vijayapura, Belagavi, Bidar, and Shivamogga railway stations after prominent saints. "Renaming is in accordance with local cultural significance," he said. He added that recommendations have been sent to the Union Home Ministry for approval and urged the ministry to approve the renaming and notify it in the official gazette at the earliest.
