The Calcutta HC has asked the Election Commission of India why action against BJP's West Bengal unit over newspaper advertisements violating MCC wasn't taken. "In the present case, the ECI has grossly failed to address the complaints raised by the petitioner (TMC) in due time," the Calcutta HC observed after going through ads portraying TMC as corrupt and anti-Hindu.
