After Indian-origin Zohran Mamdani became the first Muslim to become the New York City Mayor, Mumbai BJP chief Ameet Satam said he won't allow any Khan to become the Mayor of Mumbai. Satam claimed that an attempt was being made to bring the politics seen in New York City to Mumbai. Mamdani is the son of Indian filmmaker Mira Nair.
