Former Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina and her niece, British parliamentarian Tulip Siddiq, have been sentenced to jail by a Bangladeshi court. They were sentenced to jail in connection with a corruption case involving the alleged illegal allocation of a land parcel. They were fined $820 each, and failing to pay the amount would increase the sentence by six months.
