With heavy rains and thunderstorms lashing Delhi overnight on Saturday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that Delhi's Safdarjung weather station has recorded 186.4 mm of rainfall so far this month. This is nearly nine times the monthly average of 21.9 mm and the highest ever recorded in May. The previous record, 165 mm, was set in 2008.
