A Tamil Nadu post office that denied returning 50 paise to a Chennai man was ordered to pay him ₹15,000, a 29,99,900% return on 50 paise, by consumer disputes redressal commission. He had paid ₹30 at the counter for a ₹29.50 fee, expecting the 50 paise balance in return. However, he was told the system automatically rounded off the amount.
