The books were Shelby Van Pelt's Remarkably Bright Creatures, Hannah Ritchie's Clearing the Air, Barry Diller's Who Knew, Steven Pinker's When Everyone Knows That Everyone Knows and Abundance by Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson.
