Several sports, including cricket, hockey and badminton, have been dropped from CWG 2026 which will take place in Glasgow. Only 10 sports have been included in CWG 2026 programme. The reduction aims to balance the multi-sport feel of the event with financial and operational considerations. Further, the aim is to reduce costs and carbon footprint, CGF CEO Katie Sadleir said.
