AAIB's preliminary report on Air India plane crash stated that it sourced a 'Golden Chassis' and relevant download cables from US NTSB to recover data from flight data recorders. The chassis, a flight data recorder identical to damaged one, helped recover 49-hour data from six flights, including the event flight. It also helped recover two-hour audio, including that from crash.
