Under the new Labour Codes, individuals working as fixed-term employees will get gratuity after completing just one year of continuous service, rather than five, The Financial Express reported. The rule also applies to contract workers, both in government and private sectors. A uniform wage structure has been introduced. Employers must pay gratuity within 30 days or face 10% annual interest.
