Leptin resistance is seen when brain becomes less responsive to the leptin hormone, which is produced by fat cells and helps regulate hunger, as per General Medicine Specialist Dr Manjusha Agarwal. Leptin signals to brain that enough energy is stored in fat reserves, helping to control appetite. "One with leptin resistance can have constant feelings of hunger," explained Dr Agarwal.
