Researchers from University of São Paulo (USP), in collaboration with the Federal University of Alfenas (UNIFAL), identified high levels of toxic substances in plastic toys. The study analysed domestically manufactured and imported products in Brazil. It found that 44.3% of toys contained barium levels above the permitted limit, with concentrations up to 15 times higher than the regulatory value.
