PM Narendra Modi said a strong bridge of "trust" must be built between people of Hills and Valley in Manipur. The ethnic conflict in Manipur is between Meiteis who live in Imphal Valley and Kukis who reside in adjoining Hills. "Manipur is the 'ratna' adorning the crown of 'mother India'...Any form of violence here is condemnable," he added.
