Public Provident Fund money, an investment with 15-year lock-in period, can be withdrawn before maturity under specific conditions. Partial withdrawals are allowed once account has completed six years with maximum amount allowed being 50%. Premature closure option due to disease or higher education is allowed only after five years. One can also withdraw funds by taking loan against PPF balance.
