Myanmar's ruling junta on Wednesday declared a temporary ceasefire in operations against armed opponents from April 2 to April 22 to allow relief and rehabilitation efforts after the 7.7-magnitude earthquake, state media reported. This comes after reports claimed that the ruling military has remained on war footing despite the disaster. More than 2,700 people lost their lives in the earthquake.
