Mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Conor McGregor announced his withdrawal from Irish Presidential race. He said the decision came "following careful reflection and after consulting with my family." McGregor called eligibility rules for elections a "straitjacket" which he said prevented "a true democratic presidential election being contested". He first announced to run for presidency last year.
