Shankavi Perumal, the 28-year-old wife of a man killed in the Karur stampede, has returned the ₹20 lakh compensation she received from TVK chief Vijay. Shankavi stated she was upset that Vijay did not visit her in person in Karur to offer his condolences. She said that the party instead convinced her husband's family to visit Mahabalipuram to meet him.
