ESA's Gaia telescope has detected a massive wave rippling across the Milky Way's disc, stretching tens of thousands of light-years. The data reveal that the galaxy's outer regions not only warp but also wobble, disturbing stars located at least 30 to 65 thousand light-years from the galaxy's centre, nearly spanning the Milky Way's width of about 100 thousand light-years.
