A recent study by Sweden's Uppsala University found that some common hormonal contraceptives are linked to a slightly higher risk of breast cancer than others. The study among females aged 13 to 49 years suggested that the use of hormonal contraceptives was associated with a 24% overall increased risk. Long-term use of desogestrel products showed nearly a 50% higher risk.
