A study by University of California found that a baby's gut microbiome may influence their risk of developing depression, anxiety or other internalising symptoms in middle childhood. Young children with a higher prevalence of clostridiales and lachnospiraceae bacteria were more likely to develop depression and anxiety. Clostridiales bacteria often enter body through improperly cooked meat.
