The UP Tourism Department said the state drew 47.61 crore tourists between January and September 2024. Among the tourist destinations in the state, Ayodhya was the most sought-after, overtaking Agra's Taj Mahal. Ayodhya drew 13.55 crore domestic tourists and 3,153 international tourists. Agra received 12.51 crore visitors, including 11.59 crore domestic and 9.24 lakh international tourists.
